Robert (Bob) W. Evans

Chief Executive Officer

Bob studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas in Arlington, and in 1971 he moved to Houston where he progressed through the ranks of Baker Oil Tools, Schlumberger, Brown Oil Tools, Hughes Tool Company, and Dailey Petroleum Services.

Bob has been granted 39 US patents for inventions on production packers, downhole service tools, mud motors, drilling jars, fishing jars, and wireline jars. He invented and designed the Weatherford Double Acting Drilling Jar, recognized as the most successful drilling jars in the market.

In 2000, Bob partnered with Chet Brame and founded the Evans Engineering Inc. company that brought the LockJar wireline jars to the market. The unprecedented performance and commercial success of the LockJars led to Halliburton acquiring their company in 2010.

In 2017, Bob and Chet came out of retirement to start the TimeSaver Downhole Products LLC company that introduced an improved version of the LockJars under the TripSaver Adjustable Jars name.

James (Chet) C. Brame

Chet received a BS in Accounting from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana and in 1975 he moved to Houston where he progressed through the ranks of Brown Oil Tools, Hughes Tool Company, Dailey Petroleum Services and Halliburton.

In 2000, Bob partnered with Chet Brame and founded the Evans Engineering Inc. company that brought the LockJar wireline jars to the market. The unprecedent performance and commercial success of the LockJars led to Halliburton acquiring their company in 2010.

Homero C. Castillo

VP of Business Development

Homero worked in Baker Hughes for 40 years in the Wireline Services product line. He completed careers in maintenance, field operations and management with assignments in Venezuela, Argentina, UAE, Italy, and Norway before joining the Wireline Services – Global Product Line Management team in Houston HQ in 2000.

In his last 21 years with Baker, he performed as Product Line Manager of Geology, Deployment and Acquisition Systems, Wireline Curriculum Training Manager and Global Service Support Lead. His passion for safety, quality and performance drove him to create the Deployment Risk Management process intended to drive the development and adoption of innovative deployment risk-reduction technologies, such as forces simulation software and wireline jars.

In 2021, he founded the Wireline Advisory Board consulting and training company to share his wealth of expertise and practical experience with anyone involved in the selection, contracting, design, or execution of wireline logging and well intervention operations.
